About Our CBG Oils

Our hemp CBG tincture is made from hemp flowers, hemp terpenes, and premium 100% organic hemp seed oil. Our oil contains CBD and the full spectrum of other cannabinoids, a beneficial combination as CBD works most effectively in synergy with other cannabinoids.

What is CBG?

Cannabigerol, more commonly known as CBG, is one of many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. While THC and CBD are the two most widely known cannabinoids, CBG is growing in popularity as users discover its many health benefits.

The chemical makeup of the cannabis plant starts with cannabigerolic acid or CBGA. CBGA is typically broken down and integrated into the acids that eventually become THC, CBD, or CBC. Thus, there is very little CBG in most cannabis strains - less than 1%.

However, once the health benefits of CBG were apparent, growers started working to produce plants with higher concentrations of CBG. This process usually takes the form of cross-breeding or genetic manipulation. A higher CBG content means the plant will have much lower concentrations of CBD and THC.

How Does CBG Work?

Our bodies have a system called the endocannabinoid system, or ECS. The ECS is a system of cell receptors that regulate a variety of functions in our bodies. These functions include:

  • Sleep
  • Digestion
  • Metabolism
  • Reproductive health
  • Bone growth
  • Mood
  • Organ function
  • Memory

Scientists are still discovering just how far-reaching the functions of the endocannabinoid system are. It seems that the primary function of this system is to keep the body at homeostasis, or a state of stable equilibrium.

The ECS has receptors that accept certain cannabinoids like CBG. When the chemicals bind with these receptors, they can help to regulate certain functions of the ECS. CBG doesn't fix health problems - instead, it allows your body to use its natural system for resolving these issues.

CBG and CBD: What's the Difference?

While you may see arguments over which is better: CBG or CBD, the two compounds achieve the most benefits when working in conjunction with one another. CBG and CBD work synergistically to achieve many health benefits.

While many people take an isolated cannabinoid, such as CBD, on its own, most proponents agree that cannabinoids have more tremendous health advantages when taken together. These advantages are known as the entourage effect.

The entourage effect is simple. Basically, you can get one set of benefits from taking an isolated compound. You can get another set of benefits, additional benefits, and enhanced benefits by taking multiple compounds. CBG and CBD are a potent combination to achieve the entourage effect.
